Giant Easter Egg Hunt, meet the Easter Bunny + Mega Creatures at Hunter Valley Gardens

If ever there was a beautiful spot for an Easter egg hunt, then surely the 14 hectares of the Hunter Valley Gardens is it.

This Easter long weekend, the Hunter Valley Gardens is hosting their annual GIANT Easter egg hunts and Easter bunny meets. There will be thousands of brightly coloured eggs to collect across multiple hunts. They even have an egg hunt dedicated to children under six, so the tiny tots don’t have to compete with the big kids. And, in fabulous news, you can also experience their incredible Mega Creatures event while you’re there too.

As well as meeting the cute, cuddly Easter bunny, a visit to the Hunter Valley Gardens this Easter long weekend will bring you face-to-face with huge dinosaurs, giant insects, multiple arachnids and several mystical beasts. There are more than 100 animatronic beasts on display, and as you approach their tails swoosh, jaws widen, heads rotate, and eyelids open! Get ready to meet a red-eyed dragon, a teeth-gnashing T-rex and a long-taloned griffin. But while they’re all HUGE they’re not all scary. There are also butterflies, caterpillars pretty dragons and bumble bees.

There will be multiple egg hunts and bunny meet-and-greets occurring across the long weekend (check their website for times). Children with pre-purchased tickets can participate in a Giant Easter Egg Hunt and search for the thousands of brightly coloured plastic eggs around the Frog Ponds area. Every child receives an Easter chocolate at the completion of the hunt. Be sure to purchase your Easter Egg Hunt tickets ($2) as an add on to your pass when you book your visit to the Gardens.

The Gardens’ famous rides will also be open every day and night throughout the event. There is an epic 35-metre-long Super Slide, a Ferris Wheel, swing chairs, a traditional Venetian Carousel and spinning teacups! Not to mention, a heap of food stalls selling everything from stuffed potatoes and pizza to hot cinnamon doughnuts and ice cream. Mega Creatures is here for a limited time – Saturday 5th April until Sunday 4th May 2025. Don’t delay “snapping” up your tickets.
