There’s nothing quite like having a real Christmas tree in your living room. The smell of pine needles rings in the festive season and just begs for you to pour a glass of eggnog and put on the carols.
When you buy a real Christmas tree the whole day becomes one of ceremony and excitement. Decorating the tree with baubles and tinsel is only half the fun; the first and most exciting task for little ones – and adults too – is choosing the tree! Here’s where you can find yours – whether it be a real tree or a forever tree this Christmas.
Christmas Tree Farms on the Central Coast
Tumbi Umbi Christmas Tree Farm
Set upon lovely acreage, the wonderful Christmas tree farm at Tumbi Umbi is home to up to four thousand trees and is one of the Central Coast’s best-kept secrets. Sadly, due to storm damage from a few years ago, the farm’s trees are still too small to ‘cut your own’ this year, BUT, they’ve been able to source some pre-cut trees which will be available for sale. And, little ones can still travel in style around the farm on their festively decorated buggy or have a play in their park and trampoline!
When: Sue is still waiting on confirmation on dates, but Ttees will likely be available from 1 December onwards. You’re welcome to contact Sue to confirm.

Central Coast Christmas Trees in Kulnura
For many years, the Thomas family farm in Kulnura would prune by hand some 40,000 pines into the classic Christmas-tree shape, and come December they would welcome people to walk the rows, find their perfect tree, tag it and pick it up closer to Christmas.
Sadly, John, the owner passed away this year, and his daughter Mel and their family have made the difficult decision to no longer open for tagging or sell trees direct from the farm. We know you’ll all share in our wishes to thank John, Mel and their family for providing so many locals with the lovely tradition of tree tagging for so long and wish them the very best for the future of the farm.
While we know many people will be sad to hear that tree tagging is is no longer an option, we have happy news to share too.
You can still buy a REAL tree and bring the smell of pine needles into your home! Mel has teamed up with the team at EastCoast Beverages (also in Kulnura) and they’ll be selling the Central Coast Christmas Tree Farm‘s trees there at their fabulous on-site cafe, Bambinos.
Bambino’s Cafe in Kulnura is selling pre-cut real Christmas trees
Bambino’s Cafe at EastCoast Beverages Kulnura factory has announced that they have teamed up with Mel, “to keep the Kulnura Christmas tree tradition alive so you can enjoy fresh Christmas trees this holiday season”. Pre-cut real Christmas trees will be for sale at their cafe on select days and times (see below).
The EastCoast Beverages team has said they’re very excited to be continuing this tradition for locals, but they do ask that everyone be respectful that they “are still a fruit juice company and have a citrus farm, not a Christmas tree farm!”. As such, they will only be selling pre-cut Christmas trees on a first come first serve basis, and only during the days and hours listed.
The EastCoast Beverages team has said, “There will be no pre-booking! Our factory and café businesses come first, so please respect the hours we have listed”.
We think it’s wonderful that the EastCoast team has taken on this new task to help keep this tradition going…. and to help create new traditions! A cafe lunch and EastCoast juice at Bambino’s while picking up your real Christmas tree sounds like a great new tradition to us.
Price: Tree prices start from $90. The taller the tree, the more it will cost.
When: 29 and 30 November. 1, 6, 7, 8, 13, 14, 15 December. 8am-11am and 1pm-4pm. Please note the times/days; they will not be selling trees outside these hours.
