There’s nothing quite like having a real Christmas tree in your living room. The smell of pine needles rings in the festive season and just begs for you to pour a glass of eggnog and pop on the carols.

When you buy a real tree, the whole day becomes a little ceremony of its own – the drive, the choosing, the “is this one too tall?”, the decorating. It’s pure magic for little ones (and honestly, for us grown-ups too). Below, we’ve outlined where to find your perfect tree this year, along with a round-up of local fake-forever tree stockists.

And because we’re all about making your Christmas season sparkle, we’ve widened the guide this year – all thanks to our wonderful Christmas feature sponsors Mortgage Choice Central Coast – Nicole Wickham & Alisha Spanidis.

With their support, we’ve added two brand-new sections for you:

  • The first highlights Christmas shops across the Coast selling decorations, fake trees and lights.
  • The second rounds up Christmas workshops where you can get arty-crafty and make your own festive creations — think wreaths, gingerbread houses, cookies, candles, florals and more. It’s all the hands-on, crafty goodness to bring a little extra joy to your home this December.

Merry Christmas, everyone!

Set upon lovely acreage, the wonderful Christmas tree farm at Tumbi Umbi is home to up to four thousand trees and is one of the Central Coast's best-kept secrets. Sadly, due to storm damage from a few years ago, the farm's trees are still too small to 'cut your own' this year, BUT, they've been able to source some pre-cut trees which will be available for sale. And, little ones can still travel in style around the farm on their festively decorated buggy or have a play in their park and trampoline!

When: Daily from Sunday 30th November 2025, 8am-8pm.
Prices: Prices start from $120: tree sizes range from 5-7 foot. Premium stands for $35 (small) or $50 (large). Please note: No ‘tap and go’ is available.
Contact: Sue 0429 112 945.
Where: Stimsons Lane, Tumbi Umbi (look out for the big sign!)

Christmas businesses no longer operating

The Central Coast Christmas Trees Farm, Kulnura

For many years, the Thomas family farm in Kulnura would prune by hand some 40,000 pines into the classic Christmas-tree shape, and come December they would welcome people to walk the rows, find their perfect tree and tag it for Christmas.

Sadly, John, the owner passed away in 2024, and his daughter Mel and their family have made the difficult decision to no longer open for tagging or to sell trees direct from the farm. We know you'll all share in our wishes to thank John, Mel and their family and to wish them the very best for the future of the farm.
