Kincumber Indoor Sports Play Time play centre has been given an overhaul over the last few years with new inflatables and interiors. If you haven’t visited in a while, get there for a day out soon.

Play Time indoor play centre

Play Time is an indoor play area for kids aged 0-7. If you’re a carer of little ones, you’ll think this age restriction is great as it means your tots are free to run wild without the risk of being bowled over by older – and far bigger – kids. It also makes it a great place to bookmark come the school holidays when older kids tend to dominate the parks and other play centres.

There’s a huge range of toys, inflatables, cubbies and ride-ons, and one of the other things we love about Play Time is that everything is located in one large open space. This makes supervision so much easier, as you can watch, for example, your 6-year-old bouncing on the jumping castle and keep an eye on your toddler on the bike ramp all while sipping your cappuccino at the cafe.

Play Equipment for Bubs

  • They have a dolphin swing that holds babies securely, but you’ll probably have to wrestle a toddler out of it – they love it too. It’s a dolphin swing – what’s not to love!
  • Four jumping castles!
  • Soft-play obstacle course.
  • Cubby house with kitchen (fridge, dishwasher, cupboards, double sink and double oven – the judges of “The Block” would approve)
  • Cubby with slippery dip
  • Lots of bikes and ride-ons
  • 2 bike slides.
  • Hopper balls (those balls you sit and bounce on).
  • Swings (a standard seat and dolphin for babies, which toddlers love too).
  • Toy vacuum cleaner and a walker

Play Time Cafe

As at all play centres, food isn’t permitted on the play equipment (for good reason – let’s keep those sticky fingers away). This often makes it tricky, though, for parents with kids who love to snack. At Play Time this isn’t a problem as the cafe is located in the same space as the play area, so kids can happily wander over to your table for a few bites of sandwich before running off to play again. Perfect! The tables are large and there’s plenty of room for multiple strollers, so this space is ideal for mothers’ groups.

The lunch menu is extensive enough to satisfy even the fussiest of eaters with the likes of Vegemite sandwiches, nuggets, wedges and fairy bread for the kids and a burger with the works or roast chicken, avocado and salad wrap for adults. Their children’s lunch packs include a sandwich, pop-top juice (or milkshake) and a packet of chips for $6.

If you’re after a snack you can’t go past the cute mini $1 cupcakes or small toddler-sized $1 slushies! There are bigger muffins and cookies for adults, and of course coffee, hot chocolate and tea.
