All about Bumble Bananas

This is a local family business in every sense of the word. You’ll likely find owner Marisa behind the till, her dad on the stove, her mum running orders and her sons on the coffee machine. This is a family business with a lot of heart.

It’s an easy-breezy all-day menu of classics: think hamburgers, fish ‘n’ chips, pancakes, quiche lorraine and wraps. Plus, some excellent grabs from overseas that you’ll be hard-pressed to find anywhere else Coast-side: South African bunny chow (a chicken coconut curry in a bread bowl) and a prego roll (a Portuguese-style marinated steak roll). The muffins, coconut bread and brownies are all baked on site and the Legend coffee is roasted at West Gosford.

Bumble Bananas is great for babies and toddlers

Bumble Bananas is a cafe that’s been designed with kids – and their adults – top of mind. The large dining area includes two playpens, a wooden play kitchen and a box of toys. The walls are lined with activity boards and giant chalkboards, and the tables are laid with white paper and crayons – just waiting for your child’s next masterpiece.

This is a place you can come knowing you’ll be able to drink your coffee hot and eat your lunch at a table! If you’re a parent with young kids you’ll get this sentiment. Normally you’ll scroll the menu for something that can be eaten on the hop! Well not here. With the kids entertained, you can eat your meal at a table. While sitting down. With cutlery. Mind blown!

Mothers’ Groups and and Parents’ Groups take note

Bumble Bananas is perfect for parents’ groups. Let us show you why. A) You can call ahead and they’ll reserve a large table for you next to the baby playpen. B) There is a tonne of space for prams. C) There are playpens and toys PLUS coffee. D) They have indoor and outdoor seating, so you can get together no matter the weather. E) The car park is right out the front and there are plenty of spots. F) It’s a big open space which makes for easy child-watching and they even have gates that they’re happy to erect on the doors should you have a toddler who’s a runner.

It’s a welcome space for all abilities and special needs groups

Owner Marisa is a former teacher and music therapist, and she’s long wanted to create a happy, warm space where all residents felt welcome. The cafe is wheelchair accessible and has plenty of space for walkers, wheelchairs, and mobility aids.

It’s open until 4pm! Wahoo

Why oh why most cafes across the Central Coast close at 2pm is beyond me, so we were very excited to hear that Bumble Bananas is open until 4pm to cater for the after-school crowd and afternoon coffee drinkers. It’s a perfect option for a milkshake or treats on your way home from school pick up.

It’s a party venue, too

If you’re looking for a home-away-from-home venue for your bub’s party, Bumble Bananas can deliver. We know that parents of young children have no time – like NO time – to clean the house, bake and set up for a party. And Bumble Bananas can do all of that for you.

The cafe is available for both daytime and evening functions. To find out more, call Marisa on 0478 915 251.
