These local Central Coast pools are upping the fun these Spring school holidays with on-water inflatable obstacle courses.


Mingara Aquatics Inflatable Fun and Whirlpool 

Need the kids to burn off some energy in the school holidays? Don’t miss Mingara Aquatics’ Inflatable Fun. Plus, their “normal” pool is anything but normal: with its whirlpool and multiple fountain sprays, it’s guaranteed to keep your little ones giggling throughout summer.

Cost: Inflatable Fun: $5 plus pool entry. Pool entry: Adult Swim (12 years+) $6; Child (2-11 years) $4.50;
Child (under 2 years) Free; Family swim (2 adults/3 children) $21; Spectator $3.
Where: Mingara Aquatics, Mingara Drive, Tumbi Umbi.
When: Pool hours: Monday-Friday 5am-9pm, Saturday 6am-6pm, Sundays and Public Holidays* 8am-6pm. *Closed Good Friday and Christmas Day.
Inflatable Fun: 12pm-2pm Monday-Friday during the Spring school holidays (2-12 October; excludes the Monday public holiday).
Age group: All ages in the pool. Inflatable Fun is for children 6-12 years (confident swimmers only; no flotation devices).

The Peninsula Leisure Centre public pool and water slide, Woy Woy

You can easily spend an entire day at The Peninsula Leisure Centre in Woy Woy. The complex includes four indoor, temperature-controlled swimming pools – a 50m pool, a learn-to-swim pool; a warm-water program pool and a toddler play pool with a mini water slide.

They have a large water slide and floating inflatables operating at specific times during the school holidays – see below for hours.

Just off the pool they have a large outdoor grassed area with free BBQ facilities, so you can BYO meat and cook up some sausage sangas for lunch (ask reception to turn them on). Tag team watching the kids with your partner, and you can also enjoy a spot of quiet time in the spa, sauna and steam room (it’s only for people aged 17+).

Had enough wet time and just want somewhere fun to hang that’s air-conditioned? The Peninsula Leisure Centre has a dry, soft-play toddler play area in the foyer – it’s available for use and free of charge (unless it’s been booked for a birthday party). They also have an air-conditioned, indoor basketball court, and for just $4.50/person your kids can challenge their mates to a 2-hour game of 21 or indoor soccer.

Gosford Olympic Pool

Gosford Olympic is one of the few places you can head for an outdoor swim. They have a 50m olympic pool and toddler pool outside, plus three indoor heated pools – a 25-metre pool and two learn to swim pools.

On-water inflatables are hitting the outdoor pool these school holidays – see below for dates.

Cost: 0-4 years, free with a swimming adult (children up to four must have an adult in the pool with them); 5-19 years, $4.30; swimming adult, $6.50; spectator $2.40.

Toukley Aquatic Centre

The Toukley Aquatic Centre features a 25-metre indoor pool and hydrotherapy pool. There’s also an outdoor toddler pool that’s covered with shade cloth.

PLUS Wyong Pool is re-opening!

Wyong pool is open for only part of the year and they’re opening in time for the Spring holidays – on Tuesday 2 October.

It’s all outdoor fun at Wyong. They have a 50 metre pool and a toddler wading pool that’s shade covered. There will be no inflatables these school holidays, but they’ll likely be back this Summer.
