Looking for a fun pit stop while you’re out scooting the Long Jetty path? The newly upgraded Jubilee Oval playground has just recently opened.

This bright and bouncy playground may be compact, but it packs in the fun. There’s a climbing frame with mini bouldering wall for kids who love to scramble, a slide for speedy descents, monkey bars and a wobble bridge for balance and bravery, and a steering panel with a “clutch, brake and accelerator” that’s sure to rev up imaginations.

Add to that a set of traditional swings and a purple nest swing, and you’ve got a solid mix of challenge and chill. The monkey bars are a solid addition that extend the park use into primary schoolers too, so we’re loving that.

It’s set beside the huge Jubilee Oval, which means oodles of open space for kicking balls or just running wild. The oval has soccer goals and is surrounded by a concrete path that’s great for scooters, bikes and ride-on toddler cars. There’s a shady grove of trees and shaded seating for grown-ups to relax while the kids go full throttle.

The nearby undercover picnic benches and BBQs also make this a great little spot for decorating with balloons and laying on a spread as part of a child’s birthday party.

Ages: Toddlers, preschoolers and primary school kids.
Fenced: No.
Groundcover: Wood chip and softfall ground cover.
Toilets: Yes, near the tennis courts
Other Facilities: Undercover BBQs and picnic tables.
Shade: Natural shade from established trees.

Playing in Puddles has been around for 8 years! And we’re excited to share that we’re seeing parks we’ve written about get, not just little upgrades, but full refurbs, and of course with that we’re creating completely new reviews. For historical sake we thought it’d be fun to keep the pics of what used to be here.
