If your kids think the word "bum" is the funniest thing they've ever heard, we've found their favourite theatre show.
Tim Winton's The Bugalugs Bum Thief is heading to The Art House this August, bringing one of Australia's most beloved and cheekiest children's stories to life on stage in a comedy adventure packed with original music, mystery and missing bottoms.

The story begins when the residents of Bugalugs wake up one morning to discover something very alarming – their bums have vanished.
Without their bottoms, they can't sit down, they can't keep their pants up and they can barely stand. Determined to solve the mystery, three friends set off on a bum-tastic adventure to track down the thief and return the missing bums of Bugalugs.
Perfect for children aged 4-12, The Bugalugs Bum Thief is an ideal first theatre experience. It's short enough for younger children while still packed with enough action, humour and adventure to keep older kids entertained too.
Parents, if bum jokes are part of daily life in your house (as they certainly are in ours), you'll enjoy this uniquely Australian tale just as much as the kids.
The cheeky humour is dialled all the way up, and you'll probably get as much enjoyment from watching your children howl with laughter as you will from the show itself. After all, as the show's catchy theme song reminds us, "bums are funny!"
