Mums, if you love dancing around the living room with your daughters and are looking for a new family activity, you should take your sweet moves down to Terrigal Physie!

Terrigal Physie offers fun, inclusive and family-focused dance classes for girls and women aged two to 60+. They welcome everyone – there’s no need to have previous physie or dance experience, as there are classes for all abilities.

And did we mention that it’s also super affordable? Terrigal Physie works hard to keep their class costs to a minimum, and not only do they offer a free week trial but they also accept both the Active Kids and Creative Kids vouchers! For preschoolers, classes cost just $4/class or $7 for a week of unlimited classes. For kids aged 5-12, classes cost just $7/class or $11 for a week of unlimited classes. And for teens and adults, it’s just $8/class or $13 for a week of unlimited classes. How incredibly awesome is that!

So what exactly is ‘physie’? It’s the short name for ‘physical culture’, which is a fusion of dance and sport that aims to build confidence, good posture, strength, fitness and flexibility. It’s a mix of multiple dance disciplines – think jazz, hip hop, basic ballet and contemporary – choreographed to the latest music.

If your daughter isn’t into sports but you’d like her to reap all the health benefits of getting active and working in a group, this is a great activity to try. The low-impact dance and aerobics hone flexibility and build strength and fitness. Plus you’ll make a bunch of new friends too!

At Terrigal Physie, there are individual and team competitions held throughout the year. They aren’t compulsory if competing isn’t your thing, but it’s always fun to have a go, show off your new skills and encourage your daughter to do the same.

Mums rave about Terrigal Physie too – check out their fab reviews here. We particularly love this one because it shows what a special and beneficial activity it is to do as a family.

“Too much to love about ‘our physie’. The fact that my daughter and I have a common sport that we love and can support each other at. The friendships she has developed, the friendships I have developed. The fun and laughs at every lesson. The exercise that I actually ENJOY. Lots of things to love.” – Sue
