The new playspace at Anderson Park, Woy Woy features the classic hits of playground equipment, keeping tiny tots to bigger kids happy while they burn off their endless amounts of energy.
Those classic hits include a play structure with a double slide, rope ladders, a large rope spider web to climb, and a play shop. There are also two swings (including a bucket baby swing), a spinner and a spring rider.
Another fun feature we liked for tiny tots is the balance trail, complete with balance beams and stepping stools – transforming your minis into ninjas right before your very eyes. Expect a lot of, “Look at me! Look at me!” while they jump, climb and show off their cool moves in this section of the playground.
The playspace sits inside Anderson Memorial Reserve, which has wide open space to kick a ball around (just be mindful of the proximity to the road) and beautiful, large trees that shade the play equipment.
Once you’ve tried out all the shiny new equipment, hop on a bike or scooter and cruise down the foreshore’s pathway (located opposite the park) and take in those spectacular views of Brisbane Waters. This pathway is also pram-friendly, and will take you to another great playground –Lions Park.
All in all, it’s an excellent addition to the Coast’s lineup of playgrounds, and definitely a win for families on the Peninsula who can add it to their local park rotation. With the new Woy Woy Wharf and revamping of Woy Woy Town Centre, we’re excited to see what’s next for the foreshore, with council hinting at events, markets and other community activities to pop up in this space.
