We are so excited to share that The Art House has another incredible show coming our way this July. “Hiccup” is set to be a hilarious and silly experience that the whole family will love. As you take your seats in the theatre, you’ll be setting off on a rocking, outback adventure to find the great hiccup cure, complete with catchy songs that are guaranteed to play on loop in your head days after seeing the show. This is such a great outing for a cold winter’s day and we know you’ll adore the characters you’ll meet along the way.
So what’s the story?
It’s a perfect, balmy night in the outback. A sleep-deprived camper, a cheeky quokka and an emu with a penchant for creating wild inventions, awake to discover that a koala has come down with a stubborn and ear-shatteringly loud case of the hiccups.
The three embark on an epic journey through the night that sees them frantically eat, sing and invent their way towards a cure before the sun comes up. You’ll absolutely delight in the array of fantastical hiccup cures they come up with!
You’ll love “Hiccup” if…
- You and/or the kids are keen for a rocking musical extravaganza.
- The fam couldn’t get enough of “Bluey’s Big Play”, “Grug” and “Beep” – this show shares the same designer, Jonathon Oxlade.
- Your minis are obsessed with adorable Aussie animals.
- You’re looking for a show with a message about making friends and working together.
- As a parent, you want to take your kids to a show that you’ll actually enjoy too – the creators, Ellen Steele and Jude Henshall, have spent years touring with Windmill Theatre Company and have performed to children all over the globe. With “Hiccup”, they’ve created the type of children’s theatre they want to experience as parents (and wanted to experience as children). Thank you Ellen and Jude, we love this!
- Growing up, you were a big fan of “The Muppets” and “Sesame Street” and want to share a unique, Australian puppet show with your kids.
- Every time you’ve had the hiccups you wish someone would hurry up and find the cure!
