Have a sports-mad munchkin at home? Put the Hamlyn Terrace Sports Facility on your list of places to visit.

The area boasts a playground, BBQs, tennis courts, cricket nets, 3 multipurpose sports courts (for shooting hoops) and two soccer fields that double as cricket and AFL fields. There’s also a shared bike/stroller path that loops the grounds for a distance of about 500 metres.

Bike/stroller path

The path is great for mums with strollers, tots on scooters and families looking for an easy running/biking track away from traffic as it’s mostly flat and the short loop length means you can just add more laps depending on how energetic you’re feeling.

Kids playground

In the playground you’ll find a large rope web play structure to get tangled in and a plastic slippery dip. There’s a spinning pole that will have little and big kids alike dizzy with giddiness and a surfboard on springs to hone those balance skills. The playground is lacking a swing set; however, there are enough things to do in the complex that this isn’t too much of a drawback. Be aware that the playground isn’t fenced, but it is set a good distance along the track away from the road and parking lots.

Overall, whether you’re little one is looking to kick goals, shoot hoops, ride like the wind on a bike or climb to new heights on the spider web play structure, the Hamlyn Terrace Sporting Facility has a little something for everyone and is a great area for families with kids of multiple ages.
