Halloween Is Coming! Add Your Address to Our Trick-or-Treat Map
Central Coast families, get the jack-o’-lanterns and lolly buckets ready – Halloween is on Saturday 31 October 2026, and this year Playing in Puddles is creating a Central Coast Halloween Trick-or-Treating Map!
We’ll be mapping homes right across the Coast that are decorating, handing out treats and welcoming trick-or-treaters, so you can find participating spooky homes near you and plan your Halloween route.
BUT we need your help to fill it! If your house is getting into the Halloween spirit this year – whether you’re creating a full-blown haunted house or simply popping out a pumpkin and a bowl of lollies – add your address to our map so local families know they can visit.
Scroll down to also discover family-friendly Halloween events happening across the Coast – including the Australian Reptile Park’s huge Halloween event. We'll add more spooky happenings as they’re announced.
And a Very Special Thank You to Sarah
If you’ve followed our Halloween feature over the years, you’ll know that for years we’ve been sharing a map from the Halloween – Central Coast & Lake Macquarie Australia Facebook group.
That map was created by Sarah, a lovely local who put a huge amount of time and energy into bringing it together each year and making Halloween magical for families across the Coast.
This year, Sarah has decided to take a well-earned break from creating the map, so we offered to take the baton and continue the wonderful tradition she started.
A massive thank you to Sarah for everything she’s done to make Halloween such a fun community event on the Coast over the years. She really is our local Queen of Halloween, and we’re very happy to be carrying on what she started.
Now... let's fill this map!

Why Families Will Love It
I know a lot of families aren’t quite sure about Halloween. Many of us didn’t grow up doing it, and the idea of sending kids off to knock on strangers’ doors – then watching them inhale a week’s worth of sugar in one night – can feel a bit off. It kind of goes against all our “stranger danger” upbringings!
So when we heard about the Reptile Park’s Halloween plan, we were all in. We think this is such a fun, clever option for families – it keeps all the best bits of Halloween (the dress-ups, the spookiness, the family fun, and yes, a few treats!) but keeps those usual family boundaries nicely in check.
It’s perfect for families with little ones who aren’t quite ready for trick-or-treating, and for parents who’d rather not spend the next week managing sugar-fuelled meltdowns!
And honestly, it’s just a really lovely way to spend a Saturday night. Grab some friends, throw a few picnic rugs in the car, and enjoy a balmy spring evening on the lawn while the kids run about in a safe, family-friendly Halloween space.

The Spookiest, Creepiest & Best-Dressed Halloween Homes coming to the Central Coast in 2026
We spoke with some local Central Coast residents who are going all-in in 2026 to bring you some spooky creepy-crawly fun. See some of the most spooktacular homes to visit on the Central Coast this Halloween below.
The Treehouse of Horrors, Umina Beach

Sophia promises bigger, scarier, and more terrifying ghosts, zombies, vampires, ghouls, witches, and spiders at her Treehouse of Horrors this year. "I live in a pole home," she says. "There's a great number of stairs through our palm trees and natural bush to the front door. Kids get so excited and scared just walking up the stairs!"
And what do they get for braving the walk and reaching the top? "I have a ridiculous amount of delicious, delectable candy for everyone that comes!" says Sophia.
Where: 224 Veron Rd, Umina Beach.
When: 31 October 2026, 3pm - 7pm.
Enter “A Dragon’s Trail” at Canton Beach

If you’ve visited Cheryl’s legendary Canton Beach Halloween House before, you’ll know she creates an entirely new theme every year. She’s done pirates, Harry Potter and, last year, Jurassic Park. For Halloween 2026, the dragons are coming.
“A Dragon’s Trail: Walk the Line Between Fantasy and Reality” is a medieval walk-through adventure featuring a forest dragon, lava dragon and water sea serpent, plus a dungeon of skeleton knights who didn’t fare too well hunting for the dragon’s treasure. There’ll also be a glittering treasure grotto and plenty of photo ops.
Cheryl makes many of the pieces herself, including the skeleton knights and some particularly crispy victims she’s dubbed “the dragon BBQ”. There’s also a sensory space for younger dragon hunters, with dragon drool slime and a dragon-scale wall to draw and write on.
Cheryl wanted to also give a big shout-out to Toukley markets, Toukley Hot Bargain and local families who’ve helped with supplies and donated decorations.
Take note: This is a non-food-treat house – great for families managing allergies or sugar limits.
Where: 72 Evans Road, Canton Beach.
When: Welcoming trick or treaters on Saturday 31 October 2026, 4pm - 8pm.
A Display of Spooks in East Gosford

Ash and Carmen are at it again. This house on Webb Street, East Gosford is adorned each year in spiderwebs, gravestones, and skeletons. Owner Carmen says, "I love how spooky it looks at night."
Where: 39 Webb St, East Gosford.
When: Trick or treaters welcome on 31 October 2026 - after school til dark.
The Witches Lair, Halekulani

The Emperor of Evil invites you to the Witches Lair for trick or treating again this Halloween. Tammy's going all in again with spooktacular lights, sounds, and a live witch.
Tammy says they first decorated their Australian home in Halloween garb in 2007. "Halloween was not something that was big here on the Central Coast at that stage and we had two children come that year," says Tammy.
Ninety percent of Tammy's decorations are made by herself, which makes them unique, raw and, we think, pretty awesome.
Where: 57 Huene Ave, Halekulani.
When: Trick or treaters welcome 3:30pm-7:30pm on Saturday 31 October 2026.
