We’re excited to share that some great happenings are coming to the Central Coast thanks to Social Spaces, a series of events and programs organised by Central Coast Council.

From outdoor movie nights, to live music, markets and awesome fitness activities, there’s something for everyone in the family to enjoy. And the best bit? It’s all FREE!

Open-Air Family Movie Nights

Get excited because the classic Easter movie, Hop, is coming to an open-air venue near you these school holidays! Plus, some amazing pre-show carnival activities will be available, and it’s all FREE! Families can enjoy fun craft activities, circus play, lawn games, roving entertainment and more, before settling down to watch the show on a big screen. Grab a meal from a nearby eatery, and relax with the kids under the stars.

Limited seating and picnic rugs will be available, or you can bring your own. Make sure you get there early to find the perfect spot!

Event location dates and times are listed below:

+ Gosford Movie Night: Kibble Park, 124 Donnison Street, Gosford. Friday 14 April. Activities start at 4pm, movie starts at 6.30pm.

+ Toukley Movie Night: The Village Green, Off Yaralla Road, Toukley. Friday 21 April. Activities start at 4pm, movie starts at 6.30pm.

+ Wyong Movie Night: Chapmen Lawn, Wyong. Saturday 22 April. Activities start at 4pm, movie starts at 6.30pm.


Live Music At The Entrance

The Entrance Foreshore is jam-packed with activities for kids, from carnival rides and water fountains to playgrounds and the beach, not to mention a huge range of tempting food options! And this April, it’s going to be even better for families, with live acoustic music performances popping up on weekends throughout the month! Enjoy exploring the Foreshore with your kids, then grab a meal or snack, kick back and enjoy some fresh local sounds.


Local Markets

Spend a relaxed Sunday morning strolling around these local, family-friendly markets, where you can explore local produce and pick up some bargains too! With fresh produce, second hand goods and local craft items for sale, you and the kids are bound to discover some treasures to take home. Plus, you’ll find a range of eateries nearby, so you can grab a coffee or snack to enjoy while you wander.

Here’s where to find the markets:

+ The Entrance Lions Club Markets: Dening Street & Short Street, The Entrance (behind the cinema). Sundays from 8.30am – 12.30pm.

+ Toukley Lions Markets: Coles Carpark, Yaralla Road Toukley. Sundays from 8am – 1pm.


Free Tai Chi Sessions

Families can develop their coordination, balance and focus with these free sessions! Tai Chi is an ancient practice of gentle moving meditation. Suitable for all ages, it combines slow-motion movements and deep breathing exercises. And, bonus – you’ll get to spend a morning outside in the fresh air! Here’s where to find a session near you:

+ Toukley: Toukley Village Green, Off Canton Beach Road, Toukley. Every Tuesday 8:30am -9:30am.

+ Woy Woy: Woy Woy Oval Forecourt, Chambers Place, Woy Woy. Every Wednesday 8:30am – 9:30am.

+ Gosford: Kibble Park, Donnison Street, Gosford. Every Wednesday 8:30am – 9:30am.

+ The Entrance: Memorial Park, Marine Parade, The Entrance. Every Thursday 8:30am -9:30am.

+ Wyong: Wyong Town Park, Off Alison Road, Wyong. Every Monday 8:30am – 9:30am.


Fitness In The Park Program

This one’s for the mums and dads! Spend an hour on YOU each week while the kids are in school. FREE fitness sessions are being offered at The Entrance by Central Coast Council in partnership with Wright Way PT. It’s a wonderful way to work on your health, get active outdoors and connect with your local community , too.

+ FREE Fitness Program: Memorial Park, The Entrance. Wednesdays during the school term, 10am – 11am.
