We’re excited to share that some great happenings are coming to the Central Coast this summer thanks to Social Spaces, a series of events organised by Central Coast Council.

From laser skirmish, pop-up dining experiences, and Christmas celebrations, to school holiday activities, fireworks, and movie nights, it’s all happening this summer. And they’re all FREE!

Christmas on the Central Coast

Families up and down the Central Coast can soak up the festivities at a community hub near them this December! Four of the Coast’s town centres will be adorned with Christmas trees and decorations, there’ll be DIY Christmas photos and letters to Santa located in The Village Green, Toukley, and all four locations will be hosting their own Christmas Carols event! Event location dates and times are listed below:

Toukley Events

+ Live Entertainment – Carollers:
DATES & TIMES: Wednesday 7 and Sunday 11 December 2022, 11am – 12pm | COST: FREE | LOCATION: The Village Green, Toukley.

Gosford Events

+ Christmas Eve Community Carols:
DATES & TIMES: Saturday 24 December 2022, 6.30pm – 9pm | COST: FREE | LOCATION: Kibble Park, Gosford.

The Entrance Events

+ Christmas Eve Carols in the Park:
DATES & TIMES: Saturday 24 December 2022, 6pm – 9pm | COST: FREE | LOCATION: Memorial Park, The Entrance.

PLUS, individual businesses are also getting into the Christmas spirit across the four town centres with a Christmas Window Display Competition. Families are invited to plan their ‘window display’ trail and vote for their favourite via a QR code for a chance to win a $250 gift card! Voting opens on 1 December and closes on 19 December 2022 with the winners announced on 21 December 2022.

When: The festivities kick off on Thursday 1 December running until Saturday 24 December across the four town centres.

Summer School Holiday Activities

We can always count on Central Coast Council to bring fun to the school holidays, and with this lineup of activities and events, there’s something for everyone this summer! From Laser Skirmish and 30-minute art workshops to interactive and educational reptile shows and face-painting, there’s something for every age and interest! See below for event dates and times across Gosford, Wyong, The Entrance, and Toukley.

Toukley
MIXED ACTIVITIES: Interactive reptile show, face painting, and laser skirmish. 
+ Where: Toukley Village Green, Off Yaralla Road, Toukley.
+ When: Thursday 19 January 2023 | 10am – 2.30pm.
+ Age Group: Mixed activities are suitable for kids aged 5+.
+ Cost: FREE.

Gosford
MIXED ACTIVITIES: Interactive reptile show, face painting, laser skirmish, and a kids’ creative ‘play and Picasso’ workshop.
+ Where: Kibble Park, Gosford.
+ When: Tuesday 10 January 2023 | 10am – 2.30pm.
+ Age Group: Mixed activities are suitable for kids aged 5+.
+ Cost: FREE. Bookings are required for some of these activities so grab your tickets below!

Wyong
MIXED ACTIVITIES: Interactive reptile show, face painting, and a kids’ creative ‘play and Picasso’ workshop. 
+ Where: Wyong Chapman Building Lawn, Wyong.
+ When: Thursday 12 January 2023 | 10am – 2pm.
+ Age Group: Mixed activities are suitable for kids aged 5+.
+ Cost: FREE. Bookings are required for some of these activities so grab your tickets below!

The Entrance
MIXED ACTIVITIES: Interactive reptile show, face painting, and laser skirmish. 
+ Where: Memorial Park, The Entrance.
+ When: Wednesday 18 January 2023| 10am – 2.30pm.
+ Age Group: Mixed activities are suitable for kids aged 5+.
+ Cost: FREE.


Outdoor Movie Nights

Throw together a picnic or grab a takeaway from a local eatery and settle in under the summer night sky for a FREE open-air screening of the animated classic Shrek. There’ll be a bunch of other FREE activities for families to enjoy prior to the movie including crafts, a circus play space, roving entertainment, and lawn games.  

There will be a limited amount of seating and picnic rugs available or you can bring your own. We recommend you get there early to nab a great spot under the stars! 

Gosford:
+ Where: Kibble Park, 124 Donnison Street, Gosford.
+ When: Friday 20 January 2023 | Activities will commence at 5pm for a sundown movie start.

Wyong:
+ Where: Chapman Lawn, 14-16 Alison Road, Wyong.
+ When: Saturday 14 January 2023 | Activities will commence at 5pm for a sundown movie start.

Toukley:
+ Where: Village Green, Off Yaralla Road, Toukley.
+ When: Saturday 21 January 2023 | Activities will commence at 5pm for a sundown movie start.


Pop-Up Food Dining Experience at The Entrance

Who doesn’t love great food, great music, festoon lighting, picnic rugs and great company? You’ll find all this and more at Social Spaces’ Pop-Up Dining Experience that’ll be running at The Entrance this January! So rally your friends and family, and head along to Waterfront Plaza for live entertainment and a bunch of delicious dinner options offered by local restaurants and businesses in the area!

+ Where: Waterfront Plaza, The Entrance
+ When: Friday 20 January 2023,12pm – 8pm.


New year’s Eve Fireworks at The Entrance

Wave off 2022 by visiting the Coast’s fireworks display at The Entrance this New Year’s Eve! Festivities will kick off at 6pm with live music on stage, theming, food trucks and roving entertainment. Plus, don’t forget all of the usual family-friendly activities The Entrance has to offer, including every kids’ favourite summertime spot, Vera’s Water Garden! Then to finish off the night (and the year), there’ll be a  spectacular fireworks display at 9pm.
