A new autism support service has just opened on the Central Coast! Named Complete Sense, this specialist autism counselling service is perfect for families and businesses who are looking to better understand autism and get the support they need.

Complete Sense has been opened by Natalie Jarvis, a local counsellor (plus teacher and mum) who specialises in caring and supporting individuals and families on the autism spectrum. Natalie has a Bachelor of Science (Psychology), a Master of Teaching (Primary) and a Diploma of Counselling and 10 years’ experience working in an autism-specific school.
Have a child who has just been diagnosed with autism?
Nat provides emotional support in the form of counselling to help parents process and cope with the grief and huge range of emotions that may be felt during diagnoses. Nat also works with families in their homes to provide behaviour support, visual support, building routines, parenting advice, and autism education.
Help your staff understand autism
As well as supporting families and individuals, Nat also works with organisations, such as childcare centres, after-school and holiday care centres, preschools and schools, to provide professional development on autism. This work is tailored to each establishment – from educating staff about autism to useful and meaningful strategies that can be used to help children in their care.
Have a child about to start school?
Nat will also be running some school readiness sessions for children starting school in 2024. If you have an autistic child who you think would benefit from some extra support including communication skills, social skills, and turn taking, these sessions are perfect for your child. These sessions will allow your little one to practice what it will be like in a classroom and set them up to cope better with the transition to ‘big school’.
Nat developed the idea for Complete Sense because she wants to use her many years of experience to help families in need of support.
