Want to treat your kid to a play and shake? Get them to the Warnervale Station Playground.

Known to the locals as the playground across the road from Warnies Cafe (the Central Coast’s home of crazy milkshakes), the Warnervale Station playground was given an upgrade in late 2019, and is the perfect space to enjoy a shake to go.

If you have a toddler who’s into planes, trains and automobiles, this is the park for them! Toddlers will love watching the nearby boom gate at Warnervale station go down – complete with flashing lights and sounds – and watching the trains go whizzing past. Warnervale airport is just down the road, too, so there’s plenty of small aircraft flying past. And there is plenty of buses to wave at as well! Our little Playing in Puddles reviewers were so excited they didn’t know where to look!

The playground has a small section suited to toddlers, with a small slide, bridge, rock-climbing ladder and tic tac toe. Bigger kids will love the climbing nets, fireman pole, net bridge and large slippery dip. There’s also a large climbing spinner which is definitely a crowd favourite! The park also has 2 swings: a baby swing and a standard swing.

There is a concrete path surrounding the playground, so be sure to bring your bikes and scooters. If you’re looking for somewhere to picnic there’s both a big grassy area (perfect for a picnic in the sunshine) and an undercover area with a picnic table.

The ground cover for the entire play area is rubber softfall, which makes it great for families looking for easier access.

Fencing only covers one side of the park, with sandstone blocks acting as a barrier on 2 of the other sides. The road is a fairly busy one so make sure you’re always watching the runners!
