This is no ordinary trip to the library or theatre! No, The Librarian blends acrobatics, break dancing, clowning and beatboxing into a high-energy performance that kids absolutely love, and it’s showing at Laycock Street Community Theatre these spring school holidays!
Perfect for kids aged 5 to 12, this show is full of gasp-worthy stunts, belly laughs and a whole lot of “Did you see that?!” moments.

The Librarian is a tale that celebrates curiosity, imagination, and the magical truth that when you open a book… you can go absolutely anywhere.
Here’s the premise:
At first glance, Paul-Émile Dumoulin looks like the model librarian – serious, proud, impeccably neat, with every book shelved in its rightful place.
But there’s a twist.
Every time Paul-Émile opens a book… he vanishes.
Not in real life (phew!), but deep into the wild and wonderful world between the pages. One moment he’s a mild-mannered librarian, the next he’s swept into a fantastical adventure – morphing into peculiar characters and diving headfirst into thrillers, fantasies and romances (whoo whoo).
This show is kooky, clever, wonderfully unpredictable, and laugh-out-loud funny. Picture Charlie Chaplin juggling a diabolo, breakdancing the worm, beatboxing, and flipping through the air – that’s the energy you’re in for.
It’s improvisational theatre at its best: jam-packed with circus skills, clowning, and quick-fire comedy.
It really is the perfect school holiday outing! But be quick: with only two shows, tickets won’t last long.
