Love activities you can do as a family? One that is a real equaliser and makes you smile as much as your kids? The thrilling, challenging, and muddy obstacle course Raw Challenge is returning to the Central Coast this month and we’ve got a 10% discount code for our readers!
We can absolutely hand-on-heart vouch for how awesome this event will be, because we’ve done it a number of times! Playing in Puddles’ reviewers (both big and little) took part in their March event and we had an absolute ball. We got covered in mud, waded through water, clambered up warped walls, balanced across poles, and slid down pipes. It was some of the most fun we’ve had in, like, forever!
So if you’ve been considering doing this challenge with your kids or friends, do it! We promise you won’t regret it. Or if you’re a Raw Challenge veteran and this is your annual jam, then what are you waiting for? Read on to get all the muddy details and use our special discount code to sign up!

Raw Challenge Youth Wave
There are a number of Raw Challenge waves you can participate in, but for families wanting to embark on an adventure together, the Youth Wave is where it’s at.
Children aged 5-12 years, along with their accompanying adults, get to conquer a 3km long youth course that’ll have them jumping, climbing, balancing, and crawling their way through up to 20 different obstacles. It’s no mean feat and an absolute heap of fun. Once all the muddy fun is over you can rinse off and head straight to the post-race party where you’ll find food, drinks by Sydney Brewery, and the latest tunes by DJ Magoo!
Got kids aged 10-11 years who are ready to tackle the longer adult obstacle course? They can participate in the adult races at their parent’s discretion – see the details below.
We’ve heard a few parents lament that they’re not fit enough for Raw Challenge. Believe us when we say this isn’t a race – it’s all about having fun and making memories. The event isn’t timed, you can elect to bypass any of the obstacles and it honestly doesn’t matter if you do it in 2 hours or 4! This is an event that everyone can try.

Some tips to help you have an awesome day at Raw Challenge
Being well prepared for such an exciting event like Raw Challenge can mean the difference between a good day and an absolutely, mind-blowingly AWESOME day, so we’ve included a few handy tips to help you plan for your adventure.
+ Make sure you’re wearing clothing and shoes that can get muddy – like we mean really, really can’t be recovered-type muddy.
+ Suitable shoes for the course means laced enclosed shoes. A hat is a good idea too.
+ Bring with you a change of clothes (don’t forget a change of undies and shoes, too), soap and shampoo, a towel (or even two), water, sunscreen and a whole lot of energy!
+ Bring a signed waiver along with you to cut the time. These can be downloaded on the Raw Challenge website.
