We have BIG news! This summer, Little Leaders is launching a brand-new camp for tweens and young teens! It’s a 3-day 2-night camp for 10-15 year olds at Broken Bay! Yep, it’s an overnight camp – just like you’ve seen in all those Disney movies – and we think kids are going to be super hyped for it.

Given the festive season, they’re also once again hosting their much-loved Little Leaders Christmas Day Out! This is a one-day camp that celebrates the joy of Christmas with festive games, holiday cheer and Chrissy crafts.

And, of course, they’re bringing back their fabulous holiday day camps that use fun games and activities to teach our kids how to develop skills in resilience, mindfulness and gratitude! How good is that!

Little Leaders’ full-day camps involve a heap of fun and varied activities – from colour runs and parkour challenges to journalling and clay work. The activities are chosen with very particular outcomes in mind – to keep your kids active and entertained while being exposed to strategies that will assist them when dealing with life’s challenges and the tools they need to thrive in today’s world.

And as if that wasn’t enough, Little Leaders also get the practical stuff super spot on to make life that much easier for busy parents.

Little Leaders’ NEW Broken Bay 3-day Overnight Summer Camp for 10-15 year olds!

We’re very excited to announce that Little Leaders is launching a brand-new camp for tweens and young teens this summer! It’s a 3-day 2-night summer camp for 10-15 year olds at Broken Bay! Yep, it’s an overnight camp – just like you’ve seen in all those Disney movies – and we think kids are going to get absolutely hyped about it.

Over the course of three days, your teens will go kayaking, fishing, bushwalking, orienteering, and enjoy an Inflatable water slide, beach/water games, archery, team challenges, survival skills, sporting games and much, much more.

This is more than just a holiday – it’s a rite of passage for teens ready to challenge themselves, step out of their comfort zone and develop the skills they need to lead with confidence. It’s also a fabulous way to cement lifelong friendships.

Matt and Bryce of Little Leaders say, “Through engaging activities and real-world challenges, we help teens navigate the
pressures of today’s fast-paced world. Research has shown that the decline of unsupervised outdoor play since the 1980s has contributed to rising anxiety and depression in youth. We’re committed to reversing that by giving tween/teens the freedom, responsibility, and support they need to thrive”.

What to Expect:
Over the course of 3 days, your child will engage in activities designed to promote leadership and personal growth: from adventurous outdoor experiences and mindfulness practices to goal-setting workshops and structured team challenges. All in the absence of technology.

The camp is built around Little Leaders’ core pillars:
Mindfulness Helping children find calm amid the noise and develop focus.
Teamwork Building cooperation, communication, and collaboration skills.
Resilience Overcoming challenges and learning from setbacks.
Gratitude Cultivating appreciation for experiences and relationships.

This new camp will take place at Broken Bay Sport and Recreation Camp in the Hawkesbury River. Nestled on 650 hectares of unspoilt bushland between isolated headlands and the beach, this site is abundant in native wildlife and has spectacular views of Barrenjoey Lighthouse and Lion Island.

Inclusions: 2 nights’ accommodation in air-conditioned rooms, meals and snacks, all activities, ferry/boat transfer to Broken Bay Sport and Recreation Camp*.
Age Group: 10-15 year olds.
When: Monday 6 January to Wednesday 8 January 2025. The expected transport times will be Day 1: 9am and Day 3 returning 12:45pm. This will be confirmed closer to the camp.

Little Leaders’ Summer School Holiday Day Camps

With so many school holiday activities available for young kids, choosing one can be difficult. But we can tell you that the unique style, format, and purpose behind Little Leaders’ school holiday camps really do make them particularly special.

Let’s start with the practicalities that make these camps awesome:
+ The camps run a full school day – 8.30am to 3:30pm. This makes it great for working parents juggling kids and careers in the holidays!
+ The program is run in two convenient locations on the Central Coast – Erina and Kincumber.
+ You can join for one day or two… or even do all four days across both locations.
+ Lunch is included. This means you get a break from packing lunch boxes – huge yay to that!
+ The camps are for kids in kindy to year 6! So siblings can attend the same camp.
+ Both venues (Central Coast Adventists School and Kincumber High School) have a large hall, oval, and covered outdoor learning area (COLA), so regardless of the weather, the kids can still partake in all of Little Leaders engaging and enriching activities.
+ They accept the Creative Kids vouchers and Active Kids vouchers, so your kids can join in a full-day camp for as little as $30! How incredible is that!

And importantly for your little people, they’ll be learning incredible life skills while having a lot of fun. The Little Leaderprogram has been designed to support primary school-aged children to develop resilience, gratitude and mindfulness, and children participate in several activities that will challenge, encourage and inspire them to be the best people they can be!

Discover more about Little Leaders, its beginnings and founders

Little Leaders was founded by two Central Coast locals. Bryce is a primary school teacher and Matt is a proud dad who works in the mental health community. They want to help kids adopt a growth mindset and become the best version of themselves, so they can grow into confident, capable, and resilient leaders. “Hear hear” to that.

With today’s busy world and parents facing so many challenges (on top of trying to juggle work, family commitments, and being the best parents they can be), there’s a lot of talk about adults learning about mindfulness. But what about our kids? Bryce and Matt could see how important it was that our littlest people learn these skills at a young age – to help them now and into adulthood. And so Little Leaders was born.
