Looking for some motivation to get up and active as we slide out of winter into the warmer months? Sign up for the #MoveAgainstCancer Step Challenge this September!

The annual community initiative run by our good friend and local doctor, Dr. Ash Bowden (aka Dr Do More) is the Central Coast’s BIGGEST step challenge to help fight cancer and is something that every Central Coast family should get involved in. Here’s why:

+ Unlike some charity fitness challenges, this one is totally achievable and something you can do as part of your daily routine while out and about with your kids.
+ Your body will thank you for it. Why? Because moving has so many health benefits including reducing the risk of cancer, reducing the risk of cardiorespiratory disease, and improving cognition.
+ At a time when so many are experiencing stress and anxiety, getting out and active is a great way to support your mental health.
+ You’ll not only reap the positive health benefits from taking part, but you’ll also be supporting local cancer patients right here on the Central Coast.
+ It’s just $10 to participate!

How does the #MoveAgainstCancer Central Coast Step Challenge work?

Dr Bowden invites Central Coast peeps to get involved by recording their total number of steps throughout September, You can sign up as an individual or as part of a team, and go in the running to win a number of prizes. Prize categories include the individual most steps, most steps as a team, biggest fundraiser, a caption competition, and more!

So, if you’re looking for fun ways to keep fit and support an incredible cause while you’re at it, simply:

  1. Register: Register as an individual or invite your family and friends to join in the fun and sign up as a team!
  2. Move: Using any type of activity watch or smartphone, log your steps each day during September and reap the health benefits from moving every day.
  3. Get Sponsored: Ask your family and friends to sponsor your steps.

It’s just $10 to register and all proceeds go to Cancer Council NSW Central Coast to fund local support programs.
