Got a technical whizzkid at home who’s fascinated with all things computers, gaming, or electronics? If that sounds like your child or teenager and you’re looking for a fun school holiday activity that will keep them interested and engaged in something they love throughout the two-week break, then check out these cool three-hour coding camps run by CIY.Club in Wyong!
There are three different coding camps to choose from and they’re run across two days at separate times – meaning keen kids can sign up for their favourite camp, and SUPER-keen kids can sign up to do all three! Plus, you can use your Creative Kids vouchers too! Read on to get the details.
CIY.Club: Electronics Camp
Kids attending the Electronics Camp will be introduced to real-world, hands-on electronic design. They’ll have fun designing, creating, and building cool projects, combining the hardware they build with software and coding that they write themselves. Not only will they develop skills that will support them at school and in the future, but they’ll have an awesome time doing it!
+ When: Wednesday 20 April, 8.55am – 11.55am.
+ Where: McDonalds Wyong Party Room, Anzac Road, Wyong.
+ Age Group: This camp is suited to kids aged 9 – 17.
+ Cost: $55 Per Camp.
CIY.Club: Game Coding Camp
Children will learn the basics of computer coding and game creation at this camp. During the session, they’ll learn how to make their first computer game, and by the end of it, they’ll be putting together a few different games including graphics and basic coding to make them interactive.
+ When: Wednesday 20 April, 1pm – 4pm.
+ Where: McDonalds Wyong Party Room, Anzac Road, Wyong.
+ Age Group: This camp is recommended for kids aged 7 – 15.
+ Cost: $55 Per Camp.
CIY.Club: Minecraft Team Play Camp
Minecraft enthusiasts will get the unique opportunity to utilise the popular game as a tool for learning during this 3-hour camp. Kids will get to engage in hands-on challenges that will put their engineering, planning, teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and creative thinking skills to the test – all within a safe and controlled environment.
+ When: Thursday 21 April, 8.55am – 11.55am and Thursday 21 April 1pm – 4pm.
+ Where: McDonalds Wyong Party Room, Anzac Road, Wyong.
+ Age Group: This camp is best suited to children aged 8 – 17.
+ Cost: $55 Per Camp.
