There are so many fun activities available on the Central Coast these school holidays – you’ll be able to keep your kids entertained from dawn til dusk. To get you started with your planning, we’re spilling the beans on the best of the special one-off classes and workshops. A lot of these events are super popular, so book your spot quick-smart before they sell out.
1. Glenworth Valley – horse riding and adventure camps
At Glenworth Valley there’s laser skirmish, abseiling, quad biking and kayaking for thrill-seekers, plus camps for children keen to learn how to ride and care for a horse. If you think Santa may be asked for a pony this year, this is the course for your tot. Camps run for half a day, a full day and overnight.

2. Lions and tigers and bears, oh my!
Taronga’s Wild Squad Zoo Adventurers is a school holiday program for children aged 5-10 that’s sure to be educational and wildly fun. Chat with the zoo keepers, travel in the sky safari cable car, watch the seal and bird shows, and join in animal-themed activities.

Taronga’s Keeper for a Day Programs offer budding zoologists a great opportunity to get hands on and see what being a zoo keeper entails. They’ll learn from experienced zoo keepers about how to care for the animals, how to feed them and look after their enclosures, and they’ll have special access to behind-the-scenes areas of the zoo. Plus lots of hands-on time with the animals.

3. Crazy shakin’
Donuts, choc chip cookies and crazy shakes. Julie’s Place will show you how to prepare (and devour) these delicious special treats. Don’t forget to lick the bowl.

5. Bend and stretch
Join this fun-filled Yoga and Craft Workshop by Umina’s Bearfoot Bubs Yoga. Children will create nature mandalas and mindful jars, play fun yoga games and enjoy a calming meditation. For ages 6-12.

Want to introduce your child to yoga? Bearfoot Bubs Yoga is running a 45-minute school-holiday class, which makes for a great introduction for newbies.

6. Calling class clowns
Learn how to perform juggling, stilt walking, poi, diabolo and how to twist your own balloon animals with JoJo’s Play Gym! Plus you can take to the skies and learn trapeze and aerial skills. Sounds like a blast.

7. Budding builders
Bricks 4 Kids are hosting a series of fun, crafty Lego workshops these school holidays. Half of them have sold out already, so don’t delay booking your tickets.

8. Let’s get physical
Kids Fitness is back for the holidays! Let the kids burn off some energy with fitness based games and a mini obstacle course!

9. Take to the skies
Want to join the circus? Learn juggling, hula hoop, trapeze, spinning plates, acro and more these holidays with Roundabout Circus.
When: 26 September and 4 October.
10. Furry friends
The Australian Reptile Park’s Kids to Keeper programs offer an opportunity for children to get up close and personal with the Park’s furry, feathery and scaly friends. These programs are only available during school holidays, so don’t delay in booking as they’re in hot demand. Plus, all programs include entry to the park.
