Netball for 2-6 year olds has arrived on the Central Coast! How awesome is that! Net Mini’s will run play-based netball programs for toddlers and preschoolers in Kincumber, Terrigal and Charmhaven (plus Newcastle and North Sydney). The classes have been developed (and will be coached) by Net Mini’s founder Caitlin, a sports management professional and former Netball NSW junior netball clinic officer. Classes will commence at the start of term 2.

Playing in Puddles spoke with Net Mini’s founder Caitlin about Net Mini’s, the inspiration behind it and her netball coaching experience.
Why did you start Net Minis? Caitlin: “Since having children it has been important to me that my children share the same appreciation for what the body can do and the enjoyment and sense of belonging sport brings. As toddlers, there is a range of sporting programs available to them and we saw a gap in the market for a program based off the foundations of netball.
What’s your background and experience in netball and coaching children? Netball has been a part of my life for 20 years. I have been a player, a coach of all ages, a nationally badged umpire and an administrator. This passion led me to my professional career where I worked with community and coaching programs for the Central Coast Mariners and Netball NSW. I continued my career with the GWS GIANTS in community and fan programs playing a role in the introduction of GIANTS Netball and GIANTS AFLW teams before heading into a marketing and events role on the Central Coast as I grew my family.
What activities will Net Mini’s kids will do in the classes? Catching and throwing, learning colours and counting, jumping and balancing, dancing and skipping. Activities will encourage children to do their best listening, act as a team and make new friends to set the foundation for when they are ready to transition into the NetSetGo program.
