Hands up who’s currently teaching their teen to drive? Well, we’ve got some good news to make this rather daunting task a little easier! Central Coast Council is offering two free learner driver workshops at Erina and Tuggerah libraries in June. These workshops are designed to give hands-on support to parents and supervisors of learner drivers, and honestly, we are super grateful!

The workshops will cover things like:

+ Current driving rules and requirements for L and P platers
+ How learners benefit from supervised on-road driving
+ How you can help make learning to drive a safe and positive experience.

Helping to make learning to drive a safe, positive experience is so important. Younger drivers can face a range of challenges when learning how to drive. With their inexperience, they also face a higher risk of danger. Despite making up approximately 15 percent of all licence holders, younger drivers represent almost a quarter of annual road fatalities, according to Boris Bolgoff, Council Director Infrastructure Services. Getting along to one of these workshops is a great way to learn how you can help them through the journey that is learning to drive.

The ‘Helping Learner Drivers Become Safer Drivers’ workshop runs for two hours, and you can sign up for one at the below locations and times:

TUGGERAH
When: Thursday June 9, 2022 – 6-8pm
Where: Tuggerah Library, Westfield Tuggerah, 50 Wyong Road, Tuggerah

ERINA
When: Thursday June 16, 2022, 6-8pm
Where: Erina Library, The Hive – Erina Fair, 419 Terrigal Drive, Erina

Numbers are limited at both locations so bookings are essential.
