The Avoca Beach Playground gets top points for its location: directly behind the Avoca Beach Surf Club and literally a tiptoe to the sand. This place is ideal for toddlers as it provides an opportunity to play and swim without having to shift the car.
And for families who haven’t visited this little gem in recent months, you’ll be pleased to hear that the playground received a handsome new upgrade in 2022! Playing in Puddles visited – read on to see what all the fuss is about!
The new playground upgrade at Avoca Beach Ross Park has welcomed a bunch of few features including a larger climbing structure, complete with two slippery dips, a fireman’s pole, and a climbing wall. Plus, it seats neatly under a shade sail which is a breath of fresh air knowing that little ones will be partially protected from the sun.
There are also some new rope features in the park, including an updated rope pyramid for little ones to scramble their way to the top and a rope net where kids can practice their balance.
There’s a new mini “cafe” where tots can serve mum and dad eggs on toast and a large abacus that’ll keep the very young ones entertained.
The playground is fully fenced (great for little runaways) and has soft-fall bark as a base. Running between sections of the park is a smooth, flat concrete track that’s perfect for little ones learning to ride a bike or scooter.
There’s a cute new red boat (replacing the park’s old yellow boat) for kids to jump aboard, plus there’s a swing set including a regular swing, a bucket swing, and a group swing seat.
Want to know where the coffee’s at? Carers can grab a caffeine fix or bite to eat from the surf club, cafe, or fish shop. Then afterward, everyone can all enjoy a dip in the rockpool!
