Nestled away under the bushlands at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac hides this little natural gem. Free of over-the-top colours and offensive brightness, this little park is loaded with fun for kids of all ages and boasts a beautifully natural vibe.
Climb your way up a rope net, rock climbing wall or stairs to the top of a high tower where you’ll find filtered water views and an awesome double slide to zoom down.
Built in 2019, the playground has two swings, one backless and one bucket seat to cater for the little ones.
There are some beautiful natural timber balancing logs and a wobble boat, as well as noughts and crosses and “Three in a Row” GIANT games, delighting both younger and older children.
Ashwood Close Reserve, Glenning Valley
Ages: Toddlers, preschoolers and young primary school kids.
Fenced: No. The park is nestled away from the roads and surroundings; however it has no fencing, so make sure you have your eyes on your cubs to ensure they do not wander away into the bushes. For parents with littlies – be aware that it does have a small/medium drop at one end where it has been built up on sandstone blocks.
Groundcover: Wood chip and soft fall. Natural coverings in picnic areas.
Toilets: No toilets. Bush wees it is.
Facilities: The park has two picnic tables (not covered) and two park benches. It’s a beautiful area for throwing down a picnic rug amongst the trees.
Shade: Shaded by the large gum trees.
Parking: If you blink you will miss it and you will find yourself thinking “am I allowed to park here?”. There is a small paved area at the entrance which could fit two cars. The park is nestled away down a small track at the end of a cul-de-sac. Parking isn’t generous but you can find a spot in the quiet street.
