It Takes a Village is a local counselling service for new or soon-to-be parents. Women are invited along to join in small group sessions that are held in a relaxed ‘mother’s group’ style environment and facilitated by qualified Counsellor, Kate at Wamberal Park. Kate’s postnatal group sessions run for an hour over the course of 5 weeks and are limited to 5 mums per group. During the sessions, group members will have the opportunity to comfortably and openly discuss their feelings and challenges around what it means to be a parent. Throughout the 5 week course, women will be able to share their own stories in a supportive and non-judgemental environment and be provided with the tools to survive motherhood. From depression, anxiety and parental guilt to relationships and loneliness – nothing is off the table. Plus, children are welcome to come along so regardless of whether this is your first, second or third baby, this counselling service is accessible for mums in all situations. Kate also holds one-on-one sessions for women who are expecting a baby. To enquire about her prenatal and postnatal services, visit her Facebook page. Read more… -

We are an outdoor-loving team, offering equine and nature-based clinical psychology, supervision, and research. Our aim is to support clients and clinicians to develop a deeper connection with self, others, and the natural world. It is our belief that nature can support all beings to nurture and navigate their internal and external environments. Our 18 acre property borders Avoca Lake, neighbouring bushland, and Pickett’s Valley on the NSW Central Coast. We are super lucky to have the sun, the scrub and the sea on our door step. “We” includes a clinical psychologist, several coaches and instructors, a herd of five horses, and various animals, plants and elements from the ever-changing natural world. Our programs are inclusive, integrative, and innovative, and may occur in the paddock, forest, shed or stables, by the lake or at the beach! Here, we practice what we preach, and are committed to supporting you to create meaningful and sustainable change, and to advancing the research of Ecotherapy and Equine Assisted Psychotherapy.
